Practice stops the notes at the keys until you play them. Game keeps going and scores your timing — Perfect, Great, Good or Miss — with combo bonuses. The other hand plays for you.

Computer keys: A to ' are the white notes, W E T Y U O P the black notes. Z / X move the octave — A is now C4.
You get one bar of count-in with a click. To add a left hand to your tune, choose Left hand and record again.
Compose
Chords go upwards from the key you click. New notes use the Record into hand. Changing a built-in piece or an opened file makes your own copy in My songs.

Chords are worked out from the notes every half bar. Hold two or more keys and it names the chord you're playing too.

Ideas for lessons
- Two hands, two jobs. Play Für Elise with note names on. Which hand has the melody? What is the left hand doing between the tune's notes?
- Voice leading. Slow the four-chord song to 50%. How many notes in the right hand actually move when the chord changes?
- Hands separately. Turn Practice to Right hand and let the computer play the left. Then swap.
- Hear the harmony. Switch chord names to Numbers and play the four-chord song — then find the same I – V – vi – IV in a song from the charts.
- Nail the tricky bit. Loop two bars with Speed up each time on, then try it in Game mode for a score.
- Chord progressions in a minute. New song → A click adds: Chord that fits the key → click four chords into the left hand, one per bar. Then record a melody over the top.
- Class challenge. Everyone plays the same piece in Game mode and submits to the scoreboard.
- Compose and watch back. Record a four-bar melody in the right hand, tidy the timing, then layer a left-hand bass line underneath. Watch it fall and download the MIDI for the Score Studio or a DAW.
- Build it note by note. Start a new song, press Edit notes and click a melody onto the grid — no playing skills needed. Try making a C major melody that ends on C.
- Bring your own. Any MIDI file works — export one from MuseScore, Sibelius or a DAW and drop it in.
